Written on the back of one card: “SHE LOVED HER TEDDY BEAR.”
(via whataboutbobbed)

a week ago we had to say buh-bye to the sweetest, pink nosed kitten ever. captin was my boyfriend’s kitty for over a decade before he & i got together but that doesn’t mean i love him any less than if he had been my own.
i missmissmiss him & am so grateful he was in my life. his energy is still here & i know he is metaphysically underfoot.

shot by dan hil in his studio last week.
all the things too hot for failbook!

are you cheap?
what do you charge?
how much is a sleeve/back/leg?
x said they’d do it for $40, why won’t you?
i never paid more than $20 for anything. why now?
for the love of kittens people. think about what you are asking me. i do not expect you to be a professional, to know technical terms, to understand what different styles mean. i DO expect you to think about what you are asking.
no i am not cheap. and i shouldn’t be. i am a national award winning tattoo artist that provides great work with a great experience.
i charge what i am worth based on what i am doing. i price by the piece or hourly when working on large scale projects. when someone asks “are you hourly or price by the piece?” you are saying do you charge or charge? we look at a piece & gauge the time & effort it will take based on detail, coverage, size, placement, etc. so ultimately i need to know WHAT you want to give you an answer.
would you go to a best buy & ask how much is a computer? or to a dealership & ask how much is a car? no. why. BECAUSE it depends on the model! so please don’t ask an artist how much is a sleeve/back/etc…it depends on what you want. i will not know until we have discussed many details & the piece has entered the drawing up process.
i don’t give a fuck what anyone quoted that tattoo at. if that is what they said then by all means go to them. i charge what i am worth & i am not going to haggle or be pressured to caving to someone’s else’s idea of their worth. remember kids you are paying for the artist’s skill & something that will be on you for life. quite frankly you are an idiot if you base a life long decision on who saves you a few bucks. choose your artist based on skill, style & service. if you are pressed about a $25-50 difference, you really can’t afford a luxury right now & should focus on your priorities. not being a bitch here: just speaking the truth.
lastly, you can go fuck yourself if you are comparing my hard earned education & skill to the cheapass home fucking job jim bob did on you for a sixpack & a blowjob. i charge what i am worth. the reason your shittyass scratcher ink was $20 is because it fucking blows! yeah it does. it is technically incorrect & aesthetically repugnant. {& if you are one of the lucky few that has a talented homie, keep going back dude bc i sure as fuck am not going to cut my rates because you are a cheapass}
so…yeah. that’s my rant after wading through 40+ fb messages & emails that i have received in the last 2 days.
You want a physicist to speak at your funeral. You want the physicist to talk to your grieving family about the conservation of energy, so they will understand that your energy has not died. You want the physicist to remind your sobbing mother about the first law of thermodynamics; that no energy gets created in the universe, and none is destroyed. You want your mother to know that all your energy, every vibration, every Btu of heat, every wave of every particle that was her beloved child remains with her in this world. You want the physicist to tell your weeping father that amid energies of the cosmos, you gave as good as you got.
And at one point you’d hope that the physicist would step down from the pulpit and walk to your brokenhearted spouse there in the pew and tell him that all the photons that ever bounced off your face, all the particles whose paths were interrupted by your smile, by the touch of your hair, hundreds of trillions of particles, have raced off like children, their ways forever changed by you. And as your widow rocks in the arms of a loving family, may the physicist let her know that all the photons that bounced from you were gathered in the particle detectors that are her eyes, that those photons created within her constellations of electromagnetically charged neurons whose energy will go on forever.
And the physicist will remind the congregation of how much of all our energy is given off as heat. There may be a few fanning themselves with their programs as he says it. And he will tell them that the warmth that flowed through you in life is still here, still part of all that we are, even as we who mourn continue the heat of our own lives.
And you’ll want the physicist to explain to those who loved you that they need not have faith; indeed, they should not have faith. Let them know that they can measure, that scientists have measured precisely the conservation of energy and found it accurate, verifiable and consistent across space and time. You can hope your family will examine the evidence and satisfy themselves that the science is sound and that they’ll be comforted to know your energy’s still around. According to the law of the conservation of energy, not a bit of you is gone; you’re just less orderly. Amen.

one of my favorite clients, the lovely jess r. posted on fb today:
“Please give your honest opinion.. do you believe in bisexuality? Or are you either just straight or just gay?”
that is a loaded question & while i like to spend my sundays posting “question your religion” mess, i took a minute to post my 2 pennies: why? because i love this brave girl who moved from new mexico to oklahoma by herself to try something new. total props….also she has a beautiful autumnal maple tree tattoo on her back that we have been working on ;)
so yeah: labels. i have been “bisexual” since i was old enough to be attracted to anyone. i was lucky enough to have a proud & positive role model in my uncle. he is gay & since he came out he has never apologized for following his heart & that is a very admirable quality.
growing up i was rather shy {hard to believe, i know} & i was curious about girls but didn’t know really if it was a physical attraction or just like a girl crush: i admired these girls that were so different from myself…
i had my first girl experience at governor’s school. {a six-week brainiac summer deal in arkansas: google it} ironically, then governor huckabee gave a welcome speech & had the freudian slip “sex-weeks” instead of “six-weeks” {giggles}
so governor’s school was super awesome & it deserves a blog of it own but that’s for another high blog.
this girl beth was goth {not my type really but i dig smart chicks & she was} her camp boyfriend was a dude named…um…lemme go get my yearbook…well i still don’t remember & i couldn’t find her…but here’s 16 year old me, end of the 1st row {apparently i have always cocked my head to the side, am i part spaniel?} :
governor’s school is all about questioning reality & how you live life. it’s one of the best experiences of my life. she & i kissed one day in the library & it was sweet & soft & nice. not agressive like a teenage boy but pretty. i also kissed her boyfriend {he had full lips which i love} it was nice but such i different experience. i didn’t prefer one to the other: they were both special in their way.
i have had a number of important relationships through the years with both guys & girls. they are precious to me in their own way & i never regret having chosen to share my heart with these people. i am lucky to have shared my life with these strong women & still count them as friends. no one knows you like someone that’s seen your orgasm face ;)
if you’re curious follow through with it. feelings are never wrong. they’re feelings & you are entitled to them, that’s what make you who you are. open your heart & see where it leads you.
{sparkles}
my clients make my world a wonderful place to be! the women i meet & the mark they make on my heart…it’s beyond words really. i am beyond blissful. thank you all.

tulsa : ok
A-fucking-men. Seriously, this whole battle between the sizes is ridiculous. We women should be standing up and supporting each other instead of trying to tear each other apart.
I cann’t tell you how much I hate “real women” language. And double points for having WOC included.
yay tumblr i love you so much sometimes i can’t really handle myself. and yeah, sentences that begin with ‘real women are/do/don’t do’ need to go fucking die in a hole.
